My Family

It shall come to pass
      That before they call, I will answer;
      And while they are still speaking, I will hear.
Isaiah 65:24 (NKJV)

I'm Courtney, and I'm married to a wonderful man, Patrick. We've been married since July 12, 2003. Patrick is a realtor, business owner, and youth pastor (he's a busy man), and I'm a 4th grade teacher, housewife, and mother. He's laid back and extroverted, and I'm the polar opposite (whatever that may mean). As crazy as it seems, we complement one another perfectly.

In October of 2007, we were blessed to welcome our son, Andrew, into the world. He was 5 weeks early and a tiny little fellow (weighing in at 4 lbs 13 oz.), but he was and still is tough. He's a mess and keeps us on our toes at all times. We can't imagine our lives without him.

In addition to Andrew, we also have two miniature dachshunds, Daisy and Lady, and a cat that we call "Cat". Sometimes our house is a bit of a three ring circus, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

On February 14, 2011 we submitted our adoption application to All God's Children International. Just a little over a week later we decided to proceed with an adoption from Bulgaria. At times it almost seems surreal, but we are thrilled to be traveling down this path.

This blog is the story of us. Of our adoption, and how our lives play out as we go through the process. Come. Visit. Read. Stay.

I love finding blogs of families who are adopting from Bulgaria. We just brought our little girl home last December. I can't believe a year ago we hadn't even met her. Now she is so "us." Blessings to you on your journey.
